    Social Worker

    The US Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) is actively hiring over 60 civilian Drug and Alcohol Counselors to work in the Substance Abuse Program. We are looking for individuals that are highly motivated and experienced providers in treating patients diagnosed with substance abuse disorders.

    In this position, you will: (List of duties)

    As a Social Worker, you will

  • Assist the Clinical Director in the implementation and direction of the rehabilitative     aspects of the Army Substance Abuse Program.
  • Within the guidelines, policies, and procedures established by the Clinical     Director, assist in implementing the rehabilitation functions of the Counseling     Center.
  • Assist in the development and administration of a multi-modality comprehensive     rehabilitation and treatment program designed to handle alcohol and drug abuse-    related problems of active duty military and their family members, retirees,     Department of Defense civilian employees, and other eligible personnel.
  • Will apply a professional knowledge of social work/psychological principles,     theories, and methods to specific drug and alcohol abuse situations and problems     of individuals who present for services.
  • Assist in the Discharge Planning Program for military alcohol and drug in-patients     at the hospital/center.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Requirements:

  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • ASAP clinical providers will have a minimum of a 60-hour Master’s degree in     social work or clinical/counseling psychology, per se, from a regionally accredited     university.
  • Licensed as an INDEPENDENT provider:
        - Social Worker
        - Psychologist
        - Marriage & Family Therapist
  • License must be under the degree in which one matriculated, except for the     LMFT, which must have a 60-hr master’s degree with a combination of     psychology and marriage and family therapy courses.
  • Must have obtained license by examination (grandfathering of license not     accepted).
  • Certification in substance abuse rehabilitation: in good standing with certifying     body. Certification is defined as acceptable when: Applicant has passed a     proctored (education testing center), written, comprehensive examination in     substance abuse rehabilitation, inclusive of bio-psychosocial     screening/assessment; psychopharmacology; confidentiality/ethics; DSM-IV     diagnostic criteria; medical aspects; treatment methodologies, planning; and     follow-up care.

  • Current Competence: Recent (within past 3 years) full-time clinical experience with adults, in substance abuse rehabilitation.

  • Willing to undergo random urinalysis on a recurring basis.
  • Can be privileged at the independent level for patient care.

  • Salary Range: 48,148.00 - 89,827.00 USD per year

    Location: located all across the United States to include but not limited to North Carolina, Texas, Missouri, Kentucky, Georgia, New York, and Oklahoma.
