My name is Luisette Figueroa. I am an electrical engineer, and I work at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dalhgren, Virginia. I work in the field of electromagnetics and what we do is we look for the latest technology to work on the antennas that are on ships and make sure they operate effectively in a busy environment. Some of the benefits are that I’m working with all kinds of people with all kinds of different backgrounds and levels of experience that are incredible. Also, I, working here for the Navy, I’m acquiring my masters degree and they’re sponsoring my studies and so I can grow as a professional. Oh, I love my job because you work with so many people. And you do, every time there’s always new to do—something new to work with.
